Concept
Backstory
A group of musicians find a book: “The Boke of Ideas”.
Like the holy bible it guides them and contains multiple realities, guiding them with concepts and ideas the likes of which are beyond comprehension. Each member of the group gets trapped into separate realities.
Each reality is a separate volume of The Boke. For the purposes of my final project, I aim to create Boke I and make it a reality (without creating too much of a meta-paradox)
Boke I
A member gets trapped in pre-war era America and starts to use his modern knowledge to make psychedelic music from the limited technological capabilities of the time, incorporating contemporary culture. Lyrically inspired by reading “The Boke” and the escalating threat of World War, a hippie counter culture is wired into the aesthetics and sound of the music being created, in essence being the product of a 1960’s Merry Pranksters mentality being fused with the approach and technological capabilities of pre-war music.
